That's Exactly What I'm Talking About!

I saw the official results of the World Series of Poker awhile ago, so I knew Greg Raymer went out in about 25th place, but I didn't know how it happened. Last I saw, he was ripping it up and had a buttload of chips.

Well, as I was watching ESPN's continuing coverage of the WSOP just now, I got to see it.

Aaron Kanter sucked out a flush on the river to beat Raymer's pocket kings, dropping Raymer's chip stack down to a dangerously low amount.

I say sucked out a flush because I don't even see how he made the call after the flop. But then again, I'm no poker pro.

Even though I knew Raymer finished 25th, I was still yelling at the TV like he could rebuild his stack and at least make it to the final table.

I don't know - maybe Kanter was getting a run of good luck in the tournament. He seems like a decent and aggressive player, and it definitely worked out for him since he finished 4th, but that's the shit that always happens to me! Bet properly, somewhat aggressively, and someone makes a mathematically impossible call and wins it anyway.

That's poker, I guess.
